High Fructose Corn Syrup Vs. Aspartame

vending machine choicesWhich of the two is better for your body high fructose corn syrup or aspartame? They are both found in soda pop as the main sweeteners of the drinks. High fructose corn syrup is found in normal soft drinks when you think of soda pop such as anything non diet or low calorie. Aspartame on the other hand is the sweetener found in diet drinks and many low calorie drinks as a way to sweeten the drink without adding any extra calories, but the problem is which one is better? Well, a better question is which one is less the lesser evil of the two for the body?

Aspartame: Aspartame is a sweetener found in diet soft drinks and low calorie drinks to help sweeten the drink, but it’s not without it’s faults. Aspartame has many known ailments related to it. In fact it’s kind of hard to list all the ailments since there’s such a long list of them. The one ailment that isn’t related to aspartame is obesity as you’d find with high fructose corn syrup or sugars found in regular soda, but it’s not a healthier choice. Instead of hurting your outside appearance your hurting yourself body on the inside such as your organs.

High Fructose Corn Syrup (Sugar): This is a sweetener that is many times sweeter than sugar ranging around ten to twenty times sweeter than normal sugar that is linked to obesity. This is why many people who drink normal soda pop tend to be heavier, but this isn’t always true because not everyone who drinks soda in a good moderation zone is over weight. It’s usually more for heavier drinkers of the soda pop combined with an unhealthy diet. Nonetheless though it’s still not a healthy decision and your getting extra calories from your drink which really hurts your calorie intake causing it to be higher which is mostly common sense, but people do it anyways. The problem with HFCS is that it’s hard to digest for the body and it helps to change the exterior of your body usually associated with extra weight, so instead of hurting the inside more it hurts the outside appearance more.

Out of the two I’d probably pick HFCS as my choice since if I moderate it from 8oz to 20oz at most a day I’m less likely to hurt myself weight wise and there’s not all the extra ailments that hurt the interior part of my body even though there are still some. If you can choose to do so I’d recommend staying away from both because neither of them are really great for the body rather they are just hurting your body in different ways.

Here at World Spinner we are debating the same thing……

  2. againstHFCS says:

I did not like the statement that if one had to be picked it would be high fructose corn syrup. Both are very unhealthy for the body, which is stated. However, uou cannot pick one over the other! Having a family member with severe heredity fructose intolerance and a strong biomedical background, I have researched both extensively. There is no picking between the two!

    1. That is definitely true and looking back it doesn’t sound like something smart to say in the first place. It was just from my experience that I would rather have HFCS than aspartame. If you can I would stay away from both of them, but not everyone can do this.
